Our Core Values

People-Centered Evangelism: People matter to God. We seek to actively demonstrate love
     just as Jesus did by meeting people’s practical/personal needs. People have many needs,
     but their greatest need is to know Christ.

Passionate Discipleship: Through the study of God’s Word and by developing relationships
     with older and newer Christians,we encourage all to grow and learn from God and each other.
     The sharing of life experiences and personal insights into God’s Word helps us all realize
     that we have much to learn on our journey in becoming followers of Christ.

Purposeful Relationships: We were not created for solitude but for companionship. We are
     new believers, mature Christians, and those who are in the process of discovering a
     relationship with Christ, and with others. We seek authentic fellowship with one another 
     in an atmosphere of joy and laughter, affirmation and encouragement, trust and accountability,
     and intentional conflict resolution.

Powerful Worship: Through a lifestyle of focusing on God through private and corporate worship,
     being led by the Holy Spirit; we are empowered. Worship is what we were created to do as an  
     expression of the transformed heart and mind. We were designed to praise and adore Him 
     by giving ourselves to Him through our time, abilities, and resources.

Local Church History

Founded in 1925, the Ames Church of the Nazarene is true to its original message to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ,
the salvation he brings, a new way of life, and a life that proclaims the life-changing work of Christ to the world.
